SAD BUT RAD OVERDRIVE
I thought I had called it a day on screen printing but then I started building guitar pedals.
And pedals are so much cooler with fun and unique art. So here I am designing and printing my own enclosures now. My first attempt is the SadButRad overdrive. I wanted to try a two color print off the bat because… I’m a glutton for punishment? The prints aren’t perfect (turns out I don’t need a white undercoat) but I’m still pretty happy with them for a jig I made out of blank enclosures and duct tape!
This was a trial run with Jacquard Professional Screen ink, which doesn’t adhere as well to the powder coating as I’d hoped, even with a clear coat. But it was a good reintroduction to the process and let me know which supplies and inks to pick up for the next pedal. I’ll probably redo this design later on after I dial things in.
These sound absolutely killer though! It’s a clone of a Marshall BluesBreaker with a few modifications. The PCB is from Aion FX who have a lot of other really cool stuff I’m looking forward to trying out.
