ManTauR Overdrive

You’ll never guess what the ManTauR is a clone of…

It’s a Klon Centaur/KTR. It does have a few slight modifications though, most notably C14 being swapped from 3n9 to 6n8 to thicken out the treble range a bit. I also used 1N34A aka the ”magical diodes” that test at around 0.35v - 0.41v, if those are numbers that make sense and matter to you.

This is inspired by Dungeon Crawler Carl, a hilarious and absurd book series by Matt Dinniman. But as one reddit user accurately put it: “I don't even need the reference to know that's funny.” I agree. It sounds killer too! This was another PCB from Aion FX.

I tried out waterslide decals on this while waiting for some screen printing supplies to arrive. The decal was really straight forward to apply. I feel like it stretched a bit while smoothing out the bubbles so I’ll keep that in mind for next time. But I plan to do this design again once the new screen printing stuff gets here.
